Making the Most of your Retirement

July 4, 2008 / by lacalaw

Retirees may have been one of the luckiest people in the world. They receive income even without lifting a finger or sweating a drop.

It is not easy as you may think it is. As discussed in the blog “What to do during retirement”, retirees can only do so much on their retirement benefits. They can take a vacation, buy their dream house or car, dine in a fancy restaurant, and indulge in sports and other activities. As the author emphasized, retirement can only give you short-term relaxation and leisure.

After taking a break or buying a house, the big question now is what is next.

Retirement benefits are the last source of income for people who, for whatever reason, have decided to stop working. If the money received from their retirement is not spent wisely and purposely, chances are these retirees will then become problem of the society.

If you are a retiree or someone who happen to have ample amount of money, I suggest that you venture into a business you are interested in and where you can apply whatever talent you have like putting up a dance studio if you love to dance, a bakery or food stall if you like to bake or cook.

Never part away from your hard-earned retirement money without considering the pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages or weighing and considering all options.

Remember, money, like other commodity, fades and does not last.
