My Way and Expression on Labor Laws Violations

July 11, 2008 / by lacalaw

The Seemingly Unstoppable Violation of Labor Law”, the title of the legal blog, contains author’s sentiments, belief, principles and brief illumination on the basic laws relating to the controversial area, the Labor Law.

The author of the law blog, which is obviously an Attorney himself, is wary in what was happening in our Labor sector, where in its blog it presses that despite huge amount of safeguards and enacted laws, still labor violations are on high.

The author, in its campaign against the inequality has made the stand to respect the laborers in its rights and personality. “We work to live; we do not live to work”, quoting its call.

I can agree with the author in all its position about the standing of our labor laws in the employment sphere. However, I can only agree but I cannot supplant the answer to this persistent issue, at least alone.

Are our laws not enough?

There are sufficient laws respecting this concerns, thus law-wise, it cannot be the culprit. Certainly, not the ideal premise or shall I say, the real premise.

Are laws really made to be violated?

Though ironically viable, as there can be loopholes in the law, but it is neither the true score.

What then? A guesswork, is it the system?

Maybe, but it is broad enough to conclude that way.

My way and expression

I can only tell two blunders that causes this problem, that is,

• the problem can be traced with the implementation of our laws, the lack or failings of it
• and the exercise of the labor sector of their labor rights, the wanting and lack of assertions

To end with, labor law violations can be all throughout eliminated or much less lessened, if all people involved in this wise take the extra efforts to implement the guiding principles that out law has wage (spirit-wise).

I will leave you with this, Labor Laws is not a mere document without value and significance; it is a vehicle of life that needs to be utilized and mastered.
